Our third and fourth grade choir members had a great time singing Chanukah songs at Wegmans on Sunday as part of a JCC-sponsored holiday event. One highlight was our rendition of "I Have a Lilttle Dreidel." Many folks consider this the blandest of Chanukah songs, but wait 'till you hear this version, which we call "Megaverse Dreidel."

A few weeks ago, our fourth graders were introduced to sixteenth notes when they sang the chorus of "The Gobble Song" for Thanksgiving. In a new lesson this week, sixteenth notes were incorporated into rhythm patterns for an activity we call "chair drumming." The classes performed three different patterns corresponding to the verses, chorus, and bridge of Matisyahu's Chanukah song, "Miracle." In the video below, 4B shows how much fun this was.
When we finished, we even had time to review a few Chanukah songs. Here is 4A singing one of them.
