Every year after we return from winter break, our third and fourth graders begin preparations for their general studies musical plays. The Social Studies curriculum comes to life as our students sing about important times in our nation's history and inhabit famous historical figures. In the process, they not only create a memorable educational experience, but also learn how to perform with poise and self-assurance, a skill they will find invaluable when they are called on to lead services in the future.
Both the third grade's Immigration show and the fourth grade's Maryland History show were presented within days of each other this past week. The classroom teachers and I were thrilled with how both of these performances came together. See for yourself!

Sara R. FuldI have been teaching lower school music at KSDS since the fall of 2004. I received a BA and MAT from Goucher College and have been certified by the State of Maryland to teach both Elementary Education and Music K-12. When I'm not teaching, you might see me running up Greenetree Road, biking through Stevenson, and sitting in the stands at Ravens and O's games. Archives
