Today our lower school choir was excited to perform the song, "Turning of the World," which we have been rehearsing since our first practice. An added feature of this song was a role for performers on our "Xylo Bars." Kudos to our eight instrumentalists, who practiced very hard to master this part.

The KSDS Lower School Choir was honored to perform the song "American Tears" as part of a Veterans Day commemoration. This song has a special history: it was composed in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks for schools to use when ceremonies were held in remembrance of that day. Since then, the song has become a popular choice in schools across the country for any occasion of patriotism and remembrance. It is not an easy song to teach, but its heartfelt message of duty and sacrifice makes it one of the most important in our choir repertoire. |
Sara R. FuldI have been teaching lower school music at KSDS since the fall of 2004. I received a BA and MAT from Goucher College and have been certified by the State of Maryland to teach both Elementary Education and Music K-12. When I'm not teaching, you might see me running up Greenetree Road, biking through Stevenson, and sitting in the stands at Ravens and O's games. Archives
